Prenatal Yoga, Therapeutic Flow & Meditation
Renee Willner’s fascination with how the mind, body and spirit interact, found its perfect expression in yoga, which she has practised for 15 years. As a teacher she takes a holistic and fun approach that allows individuals to find what they need in the practise, in a safe and supportive environment.
Her interest began as a teenager, when she attended chanting and meditation sessions at Fitzroy ashram. After completing her BA in Performing Arts, her passion for movement, voice and breath-work expanded to other body-work including spa therapies, group fitness instruction, therapeutic and prenatal massage.
Following the birth of her daughter, Renee searched for a holistic approach to exercise that would bring together all of her interests, and fell in love with yoga. Gradually discovering the deeper layers of Yogic philosophy, breath and mindfulness.
Her initial teacher training at Byron Yoga Centre incorporated a gentle and integrated approach to asana, breath and concentration, with a focus on safety and working with individual needs. This helped cement her belief that students should take an explorative approach to yoga, tuning in to their bodies and working at a level that is right for them.
A particular passion for supporting and nurturing women through their pregnancy and into early motherhood led Renee to complete further teacher training in southern India, in 2011, followed by Yoga of Birth training. She now regularly teaches prenatal yoga, offers prenatal massage and continues the journey for postnatal women with postnatal yoga, mums & bubs.
